Once upon a time, in a place far away, a young boy was told that he had to conform to society. That he couldn't do whatever he wanted. That he had to obey the rules of a society that didn't understand itself, much less work. And while his father had the 8-track blaring Happy Together, the small blessing for the young boy was that technology had not made skipping tracks easy.
So quietly, be it in the backseat of a Plymouth Barracuda, Chrysler Station Wagon (complete with fake wood panels), Toyota Corolla, 1977 Dodge Power Wagon Club Cab, Chrysler LeBaron or Dodge Diplomat, he silently mouthed the words to 'Let Me Be' when it came up. It was his secret song.
Years passed. The Navy, the Marines, the Real World.
He never lost his secret song. ;-)
