On September 21st, 1980, a man wrote a letter as he sat at Miami International Airport. It was to be one of the best letters he would ever write and was to later be viewed as a turning point by the intended recipient. His son.
The boy, to turn 9 only a week later, was being sent to Trinidad before his parents were to come down. Life happens in its own way, defying plans and in their stead only offering turning points.
30 years later, short one month, the son writes his own turning point at the same airport. The previous turning point happened in a world that had the Berlin Wall and a Cold War and it was viewed through the eyes of a 9 year old who had no control over decisions made for him. This turning point, 30 years later, is much more complicated - but is one where he has made his own decisions.
